Park's Music Academy The purpose of Park Music Academy is to encourage the children and young people in the Park Church congregation and neighborhood to develop musical gifts, and invite the children to use their gifts in the life of the church. Lessons will be taught by the musicians of Park Church (Carol and Tom Hochhalter and Andrew Sicard) and the neighborhood (Mr. Bill Bird will be teaching our vocal lessons—a wonderful opportunity!) at minimal cost to the participants. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships if cost is prohibitive.

The minimum grade level for private instrumental lessons is 3rd grade, due to the necessity for independent reading and finger strength. Our vocal instructor prefers students in grade 7 and above. Children younger than 3rd grade are welcome to join a musicianship class that will get them started musically and prepare them for private lessons when they are old enough. They will work with voice, rhythm instruments and keyboard. Parents are welcome to stay for this class, which will run from 5:00-5:30 on Wednesdays, October 4-December 13.

Applications are available and are now being accepted in the church office; lessons will begin the first week of October. The lesson schedule will be set by September 27, opening night of Wednesdays@Park. The Fall Session of Park Music Academy runs October 4 – December 13. A recital will be held at the end of the session for students to show what they have learned.

Wednesdays @ Park begins on Wednesday evening, September 27. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:30.

Music and Motion is for ages 3 through 1st grade and they will meet in the Fellowship Room, from 6:00-6:15 p.m. Come for the fun!

Kindergarten/1st Graders will meet from 6:15—7:15, in the upper east wing of the building. They will enjoy a Bible Story and activity during this hour.

GEMS/Cadets will meet from 6:15-8:00 p.m. Cadets meet in the lower level, under the Activity Center. GEMS meet in the Fellowship Room, to the east of the Atrium.
